I had just finished re-reading The Wolfe and The Serpent in anticipation of the release of The Thunder Lord Book1 and after reading this I will have to re-read Lesparda. What can I say KLV has nailed it again. Gallus de Shera's stable of knights is impressive to say the least. Scott & Troy de Wolfe, twin sons of William & Jordan, Stefan du Bois, Garran de Moray not to mention the house of de Russe and the revisit to Braidwood manor and Davyss de Winter and his sword Lesparda, and Lady Honey the youngest daughter of Chrisopher & Dustin de Lohr. It was such an epic introduction to the de Shera family and Gallus & Jeniver, parents of Bhrodi de Shera who marries Penelope de Wolfe (The Serpent.) youngest daughter of The Wolfe. Thanks for the memories KLV it was just wonderful revisiting these families. I only wish there was more of a love story with Gallus & Jeniver and where was the epilogue it just seemed to fall flat at the end. Still 5 stars though and certainly well worth waiting for and now the waiting begins for 2 & 3.Tags : The Thunder Lord: The de Shera Brotherhood Book One (Lords of Thunder: The de Shera Brotherhood Trilogy 1) - Kindle edition by Kathryn Le Veque, Scott Moreland. The Thunder Lord The de Shera Brotherhood Book One Lords of Thunder The de Shera Brotherhood Trilogy 1 edition by Kathryn Le Veque Scott Moreland Romance eBooks Reviews
I am getting to a point that I don't know which story I like the best. Years ago when I started reading Medieval stories I did not know I would get so addicted to them. But I am confused because each family is as good as the story with another family I read before. The Knights are bigger than the ones before
and here I am falling in love all over again with a different gorgeous Knight.
You're going to have to stop doing this, I don't know if my heart can take much more of it.
Kathryn, you have so much knowledge of English history, the geography of the land and the knowledge of her people. I than you one more time for the good reading.
Now to book 2 The Thunder Warrior. Can't wait to see if the baby is a boy or a girl. After 2 girls, it's gotta be a boy...
I patiently waited for this story (not). I purchased it as a pre-order and breathlessly awaited it's arrival on my . This story was just PERFECT! I always wondered about Bhrodi de Shera's parents (his story is in SERPENT) and now I have to wonder no more.
Ms. Le Veque wove the stories of the de Winters (Lespada), the de Wolfes (The Wolfe), the du Bois' (Unending Love), the de Morays (The Gorgon), and the de Lohrs (Rise of the Defender) all into one book - wow! It was wonderful catching up with my favorite heroes and their progeny. It felt like I was reading about old friends. I had always wondered what happened at the end of Lespada, The Wolfe, Unending Love, The Gorgon, and Rise of the Defender. Well, look no further - a lot of answers about those characters appears in this book. It was like having extra prologues for those books woven into this story.
I'm anxiously anticipating Book #2 and Book #3, where the author continues the story of Tiberius and Maximus. Hopefully Ms. Le Veque will also add more tidbits/prologues about the lives of the other supporting characters too. The author never ceases to amaze me with her gift of storytelling.
I experienced the whole gamut of human emotions while reading this amazing book. Fear during some of the situations, joy for love found, grief for love lost, anger and contempt for the deceit perpetrated, pleasure in greeting old friends from previous books and sympathy and sadness for the inevitable cycle of life. But, through it all, there was hope. Hope that, no matter what, the Lords of Thunder would rise above it all and win the day.
Kathryn Le Veque has such a talent for drawing you immediately into the story and keeping you riveted until the last page. Drawing on real characters from England's tumultuous history during the reign of King Henry III and his power struggle with Simon de Montfort, there is much intrigue and scheming. All of these machinations are going on unbeknown to our hero, Gallus de Shera, Earl of Coventry, the eldest of the de Shera brothers.
Gallus, who has never dealt with his grief from his first wife's death, has recently married our heroine, the Lady Jeniver Gaerwen. Meeting under seemingly tragic circumstances, they are gently coerced into marrying immediately by Gallus' mother, Lady Honey. What follows next is for the reader to discover, but it is an lovely revelation.
I loved Gallus de Shera. His strengths were almost immeasurable and his weakness was endearing. Lady Jeniver is a total delight, so kind, gentle and selfless, in spite of her tragic circumstances. Gallus' brothers, Maximus and Tiberius, have certainly whetted my appetite for their stories. But, in my humble opinion, the character who stole the book was Gallus' mother, Lady Honey. Lady Honey is the youngest daughter of Christopher de Lohr ("Rise of the Defender"). Family is everything to Lady Honey and she is a fierce defender and supporter of her formidable sons. Her sense of honor, her selflessness, her strength and her great love for her sons added so much. I just loved her character and the way Kathryn Le Veque made her such an intricate part of the storyline.
This is a fabulous beginning to what appears to be another amazing family dynasty written and crafted so beautifully by Kathryn Le Veque. I cannot wait for the next Thunder Lord story!
